Our Story

IDL World was established in 2017 to consolidate the expertise and resources of groups and individuals who had devoted decades each to community service, especially in education.

As the world changes, academic demands on students increase rapidly, amplifying the need for support services, especially for those who are most likely to be left behind.

Barbara Lindsey

Vice President

Barbara Lindsey began her journey as a learner-educator in 6th grade, working before school and during lunch to help students with reading challenges. These experiences inspired Barbara to continue tutoring in high school and college. For 16 years, Barbara served as Director of the Multimedia Language Center in the Department of Literatures, Cultures & Languages at the University of Connecticut. Retired from the University of Connecticut, Barbara currently works for the Learning Skills Department at Folsom Lake College, guiding peer mentors in one-to-one and small group tutoring sessions.
